Math Extended Response

      Extended response questions are a large part of our math curriculum.  This is a skill that students will use when they are explaining how they solved a particular problem.  The use of math terms and understanding of different concepts is evident in their explanations.  I have listed several different problems for students to practice.  This will begin the first part of November.

How to Write a Four Star Response

1.  Read the question carefully. Make sure you understand what the question is asking you!!!

2. Restate the question in a sentence.

3. Use 3 examples from the book.  Explain each example.

4. After each book example, use your own thoughts and feelings to explain the example.

5. Restate the question with more feeling.
